After Chris’ break-up with his ex-girlfriend, he’s pretty sure that nothing is ever going to be the same again. He thinks that she’s probably right to walk out, anyway. After falling into a deep depression, things seem to start getting better. He decides to join a local volunteer acting troupe. That’s where he meets Jacob, the charismatic young lead with the rainbow-colored hair tips and an easy smile. When Jacob offers to be his private acting coach, Chris feels like he’s just won the lottery. He has no reason to believe that these private acting lessons are going to become so much more. Soon, he finds himself with intense and confusing feelings for Jacob. They make no sense. Chris has never been into guys before. Things haven’t been going that well for Jacob. After a few small roles, he’s starting to find himself with no work again. Soon, he’s tempted to fall back into old habits. A few random encounters make him believe that maybe he and his new friend Chris are more than just friends, but Jacob knows enough about straight boys. He needs to steer clear of him if he doesn’t want a world of pain. Chris’ allure is far too much, though, and soon he finds himself in an explosive relationship. With Chris’ crazy ex and a whole lot of his own past that he would like to hide, Jacob is pretty sure that this relationship isn’t going to work out in the long-term. Maybe if Chris can get a handle on the situation with his ex, Jacob would be more inclined to stick around. At least, Chris hopes so. But as it is, Jacob has every reason not to, except for Chris himself. And that shouldn’t be a good enough reason, should it? Oh Brother, I absolutely loved this book! I definitely didn't want it to end. There was a lots of drama, a crazy ex, romance, understanding lover and scary parts. Chris and Jacob have a roller coaster of a relationship. Everytime it seems they've ironed out their issues something else comes up, both internally and from outside forces. Most of the internal drama comes from Jacob. He just can't seem to accept that Chris won't abandon him. Because of his past, he has a lot of self esteem issues. Then there is the external force, namely Chris's ex girlfriend. Talk about creepy and unbalanced! The only complaint I have is about the way it was resolved. After protraying her in such an unflattering and unstable light, I didn't find her total change of heart believable. I also feel that Chris would have involved the police and not just threatened her with the possibility. Dispite this, the book was otherwise well written and the story absorbiing. The ending wasn't a cliffhanger but it did leave some questions unanswered. Since the whole premise behind their spending time together was Jacob giving Chris acting lessons, it seems strange that we never learned if it landed Chris any acting roles. Since the author didn't provide one of his epilogues, I can't tell if this is the end or the beginning of a series.

I enjoy reading Jerry Cole's stories and find connection to a character or two. Again, Jeffy finds a way to pull on the heart strings of self discovery and the human journey.

I thought the book was okay. Chris is a manager at an Electronic store and Jacob is a actor/ language teacher. The two met when Chris decided to try taking some acting lessons. There was an attraction for both of them, but Chris was straight and Jacob was gay. So, in Jacob's mind he felt Chris was just experimenting and Chris thought that Jacob just wanted to hook up with straight guys because there is no expectations and he can just walk away. But, after spending time with each other they realize that there was real feelings for each other and that maybe they can have a real relationship. But of course, there is always an ex and deep dark secrets from the past that tries to come between them. So, there comes a time when they both realize that running away is not the answer and you have to be willing to trust, communicate and fight for what you really want. Love is an emotion that doesn't always come easily, you have to open yourself up for hurt, regrets and doubts for you to over come those obstacles that are in your way and fight for the love that you deserve. And I feel that is what Chris and Jacob learnt in this story. I really hope that they have a happy ever after. These are two of the most annoying and whiny characters I have encountered in m2m romance. Take every stereotype about gay men, the film industry, and psychotic females and blend them together, and you'll have this novel. The title may claim, "He's worth it," but reading this novel is not worth it.
This book is another great example of Jerry’s ability to write a sweet love story. The development of Jacob and Chris relationship is filled with a lot of twists and turns; including their friends making for another pleasurable escape. Jerry, you have hit a stop that just keeps getting better with each book!!! I had a difficult time with this read. My problem was with Sophie's tenacious "B*****y" attitude and Chris's lackadaisical left side right side never taking a stand till it drove me crazy attitude. This is the 1st. book by Mr. Cole that I did not finish in one sitting! I got so P.O. at those two that I wanted to smack them both up side the head. I had to go and make myself another Jack & Coke and then walk away before I could start reading again. I really felt for Jacob so much, he was once again being lead up and down in and out by Chris and then Sophie adding her two cents in; that I wanted to scream at him to grow up and realize that they are just using him. But I guess if this story got to me; that it was what the Author intended to happen, as it causes us to stop and think on how our actions can cause reactions all around us and some of those actions can be very hurtful. For that alone my hat's off to Mr. Cole for a really great book! Mr. Cole once again has stepped out side the box and given us a very thought provoking book and I certainly will be re-reading this book again soon. I loved the book, could have been longer though! Loved the characters, and the sex scenes were good too, would have liked one more, make up sex you know....LOL
